It is useful and helpful to occasionally key up the repeater.

The repeater will ID in Morse Code every 15 minutes.

If you just state your general location, it would be useful.

If you just state your call sign, it would be helpful.

If you state your intent, ie. test, monitoring, or
listening next 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.

Everyone can enjoy knowing how well
their radio and repeater are both working
including you as others do the same.
